Hardware Review and Refresh

We have been providing web hosting for the last 17 years and for the latter half of that time, we've provisioned and maintained our own entire network and server infrastructure.
Each year, we review our hosting platform and currently-available technologies to help ensure that we are providing the best possible service and support for our customers at the best possible price.
As part of this review in 2017, we have decided to partner with an external service provider rather than continuing to maintain our existing in-house data centre facility in North Ryde. There were a number of factors that contributed to this decision, including the cost of our current colocation service being increased by more than 25% (ouch!), the ability to lease rather than purchase new hardware, better onsite data centre monitoring and access to faster Internet connectivity.
We have reviewed and interviewed the best providers in this space and have chosen Servers Australia to provide our future server hardware and data centre needs.
Servers Australia is a 100% Australian owned and operated company with more than 50 staff and 10,000+ servers under management. They operate four of their own data centres as well as utilising rack space in 10 other data centres across Australia and New Zealand. They have guarantees for uptime and hardware replacement that are financially-backed, and they have a very impressive track record of support response times.
Under our hardware provision arrangements, Servers Australia will provide us with physical network and server infrastructure in the Equinix SY4 data centre in Sydney. We will manage firewall security, backups and all aspects of the software environment. Importantly, we retain full and exclusive control of all customer hosting account data and will continue to provide the same friendly, responsive support that you know and love.
In summary, we believe that under this arrangement, we will be able to provide you with an even more reliable hosting service, faster connectivity and the capacity to accommodate more visitors to your website.
We are currently in the final stages of provisioning the new hosting platform, after which time, we will migrate each hosting account into a software environment that is identical to the one they are currently running in.
We've done many such migrations over the years (mostly moving customers from other providers onto our network) and we've put a lot of planning in place for this particular migration process.
Apart from a brief period late at night when we will need to temporarily delay the delivery of your email in order to move your account between servers, all of your services will simply keep doing what they should be doing, just from their new home!
In the coming weeks, we will be in touch with you with a detailed plan for the migration of your individual hosting accounts with us.

Update - December 2017
A couple of months ago, we wrote to you to let you know of an upgrade we were performing to our web hosting platform. I am pleased to report that the migration of all customer accounts was completed successfully and the new platform is continuing to perform very well.
